After months of working with displaced Ukrainians, we realized that children that are displaced need an outlet to express themselves–to find joy in colors and light–amid uncertain times.

Painting the Future was founded in 2022 by U.S.-based volunteers in response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. In 2023, we expanded our programs to the United States.

Artmaking inspires creativity, encourages self-expression, and gives children the opportunity to simply be kids.
Our art workshops are thoughtfully designed to create moments of joy, creativity, and hope for children affected by conflict and displacement.
